Burnin the Wick at both ends

To those who don't make it back

There is many differing views on the war in Iraq! Today the first news story I saw was that 2 soldiers were found dead! For obvious reasons this grabs my heart and rips it apart. But I have to gather myself and go about my day!! A little while ago I found this poems when searching for something a while back and saved it because it was so beautiful and sad!

Letter From God....To Those Not Returning From Iraq
America, these soldiers you chose, is the finest in the land,
And if you'll pause a moment, I will share with you my plan.
The message I delivered to them was very clear,
"This fight goes straight to Heaven, fear not, for I am near."
"My children I am with you, this trip is one I've planned,
Yes....this trip is something special, it's one that God will man.
Heaven's Soldiers needs some special help up there.
The Master has now summoned and is asking us to share."
They quickly volunteered for this mission in the across the sky,
Not a one was unprepared, not a one afraid to try.
"You'll go swiftly to the Master, and that trail of dust they'll see,
Is the 'changing of the guard,' for you're traveling here with me."
"You must leave this vast desert that you've been sitting in, behind,
For what is waiting, is pure gold and silver lined,
As you search the deserts of Iraq in hopes to find them there,
Rest assured they're here beside Me and I have them in My care."
"You have trained them well, America, I've observed your every test,
I stood silently and waited, until you had the best.
I needed them, America, for Heaven's Great Soldier Plan
Encompasses the entire globe, The Universe of Man."
"I know them well, America, these loved ones you have lost,
I selected them some time ago, forgetting not the cost.
America, my heart is grieved, by your sorrow, tears and pain, and
Though it's little comfort, your loss is Heaven's gain."

There is not much comfort when we lose someone we love...the only comort I know is that they are in a better place! Much love and gratitude for those who gave their lives for me and mine!

 Father’s Day fast approaches….

Dear Daddy,

There are so many things that we have endured….together and apart! I realize that I have not always been the easiest daughter to love and that I sometimes make the simplest of situations completely complicated! I love you because you have brought unconditional love into my life…you didn’t quit even when I was very stubborn. You have given me opinions in loving ways and you have always made sure that I know you love me!! You respected my space when I wanted to run. You are strong in a loving way and I admire you for that! We have a one of a kind relationship. I know that not everyone in our situation has such a great outcome and I am soo grateful that we have gotten to the point we are today!! If I need someone to listen you are there….if I need someone to be on my team you are there….sometimes even when you do not agree with me….if I need someone to tell me that maybe I am making a huge mistake you do that too…even when I do not listen!! I think that you are the perfect dad for me and the greatest grandfather I could ask for my children!! I am put in awe when I watch the way you are with the kids. It has truly been a learning experience to see you interact with them!! My heart is filled with love and admiration and respect! You have never made excuses and I thank you for that. Daddy, because of you I learned what it meant to be loved unconditionally and to sometimes agree to disagree. I learned that life is what you make it and I get to choose how I deal with what life throws at me! I can never really express how grateful I am for having you in my life and for the person you are!! I could have never imagined that my daddy would be so wonderful! Thank you for loving me and helping me become who I am today!!

Dear Hubby,

You have been a steadfast man!! You have loved me without condition and I am full aware how lucky I am! You sacrifice for those you love and do not ask for much in return!! You have taught me about dedication and devotion and you have waited patiently for me to learn!! You trust me with our present and our future!! I cannot begin to express how proud and grateful I am for who you are and for sharing your life with me. Sometimes the molehills become mountains and you climb them with me!! I am truly blessed to be walking by your side. I know that times are tough right now and I cannot wait for the wait to be over! You are strong and passionate in everything that you do and I admire that in you! I am sure that some day we will watch our children with pride and I will have you to thank for sharing in this journey and responsibility with love and respect and much more than I could have ever hoped for! Our children are blessed to have you for a father. They may not understand today but they are certainly proud and someday they will be even more proud of who and what you are!! I hope that you know how grateful we are for you and for the fact that you always do whatever you can to see our dreams realized even at the expense of your own!! It does not go unnoticed!! You are one of few who puts so much value on their family and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!! I could not have asked for a better partner in the journey of parenthood!! I know that if it were not for your determination and dedication and steadfastness we might not be where we are today!! Thank you for believing when I did not and could not believe for myself!! Thank you for never giving up on me or us or our family!! Thank you for always being you and for allowing me to be me!!

These are my 2 favorite men!! I am truly blessed and fortunate!! Much gratitude! Much Respect!! And Much Much love!!! Thank you!!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!!!
