Burnin the Wick at both ends

 Mowing the Grass in Iraq

Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He
asked his wife to send him dirt (U.S. soil), fertilizer and some grass
seed so he can have the sweet aroma and feel the grass grow beneath his
feet. When the men of the squadron have a mission they are going on,
they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil to
bring
them good luck.

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors.
Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don't stop and think about the
little things that we take for granted.

Upon receiving this, please say a prayer for our soldiers that give and
give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.

 SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

I have been wandering throught the stream...every so often I see the leave iraq now thing. I try not to take it personal..we live in a free country where every one is free to their views and opinions! And one of the beautiful things about the stream is that we are all welcome to agree to disagree. I tried to figure out how to put a video on here couldn't so i found the lyrics to one of my current favorite songs. Basically I am not sure what my opinion is on the war! Maybe I am too close to form one..but I do support the troops!! My husband believes in what he is fighting for and I believe in him!!

Artist: Chely Wright
Album: Metropolitan Hotel
Title: Bumper Of My SUV

I've got a bright red sticker on the back of my car
Says United States Marines
And yesterday a lady in a mini-van held up a middle finger at me
Does she think she knows what I stand for
Or the things that I believe
Just by looking at a sticker for the U.S. Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

See, my brother Chris, he's been in for more than 14 years now
Our dad was in the Navy during Vietnam
Did his duty then he got out
And my grandpa earned his purple heart
On the beach of Normandy
That's why I've got a sticker for the U.S. Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

But that doesn't mean that I want war
I'm not Republican or Democrat
But I've gone all around this crazy world
Just to try and better understand
Yes, I do have questions
I get to ask them because I'm free
That's why I've got a sticker for the U.S. Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

'Cause I've been to Hiroshima
And I've been to the DMZ
I've walked on the sand in Baghdad
Still don't have all of the answers I need
But I guess I wanna know where she's been
Before she judges and gestures to me
'Cause she don't like my sticker for the U.S. Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

So I hope that lady in her mini-van
Turns on her radio and hears this from me
As she picks up her kids from their private school
And drives home safely on our city streets
Or to the building where her church group meets
Yeah, that's why I've got a sticker for the U.S. Marines
On the bumper of my SUV

my bumper sticker does not say U.S. Marines it says U.S. Airforce but the same concept applies!! My 5 yr old gets told all the time that his daddy might get blown up by kids who don't know how bad that hurts!! My daughter has went 2 birthdays already without her step-dad here...and she already knows that he won't be here for this year's birthay either. Both my children started new sports this year and we take lots of pics to send ... but it isn't the same as having him here. I spent my anniversary alone this year!

Regardless of your view on the war...my prayer is that we realize the troops are doing a job! They deserve our respect and definately our support!! And don't forget all the families left behind that deserve your support to!!
Grateful Blessings!

What time of day are you?

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.
Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.
Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.
You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

 Lots on my mind...

-been catching the local paper online...
-we actually had 100 protesters on the courthouse lawn this weekend protesting amnesty for illegal immigrants...
-I was sad when I read the story....
-I have friends that came here illegally and have been working in an ESL classroom for the last year...
-I am not sure what the best way to handle the whole situation is...
-it would be very sad to go into the classroom one day to find all the students that have been working so hard had been rounded up like cattle and taken away...
-I have one friend who came here illegally, joined the Army and has been to Iraq and Kuwait 2 times each...
-he is serving a country that wants to just send him away...
-hubby is barely into his most recent extension...
-he got a notice to be on standby for another possible extension...
-I think we should just stop getting notices for possible extension...
-instead they should send notices for possible end of TDY!!...
-would be less time consuming and I wouldn't get my hopes up as often..
-our school system is going to have to lose 10 teachers next year to pay for healthcare of employees...
-teacher's won't agree on a contract that raises their cost of healthcare but would save teacher's jobs...
-a 16 year old student died in a car accident yesterday...
-she was in a car with her 24 year old boyfriend who was 2 times over the legal blood alcohol limit...
-my son thinks that when my messanger knocks to notify me that a friend is online daddy is calling...
-I was in the dentist office today to get my stitches out...
-while I was there I saw a report on CNN that we should all be getting disaster kits ready...
-they are trying to get the word out without causing a panic...
-I have to wonder if it is really necessary...
-if it is shouldn't we panic?...
-still want to eat something that I can chew...
-hope my mind clears soon...
-at least have the ability to think on one topic at a time...
Grateful Blessings all!

 I love pics...

A picture is worth a thousand words. I guess that is why I love them so much.
I am terrified of lightning and would absolutely be in a panic if I were in this situation...but I think the picture is awesome

This picture is beautiful..it was taken at a base in Iraq and is one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen

My husband is in this one somewhere! I love it that they put the jets in ... they are part of the team!!

Sometimes there are no words...but pics are something like a window into the mind! Even still we each see the picture with our own perspective! Each time I look at the pics hubby sends me...I see and feel something different...how about you? Have a great afternoon fellow bloggers!
Grateful Blessings!
